Dancing
is a great way to relax, have fun and unwind at the end of a busy working day. Why not take the plunge this September and take your first steps with Bristol's leading partner dance specialists. Dance classes are a great way of meeting new people whilst learning a skill that will last a lifetime. Anyone can do it; come along on your own or with a partner. In all our classes we encourage you to dance with different partners throughout the night, which makes the night very sociable and gives you the chance to meet lots of new people, as well as being great fun. The classes are very popular, informal and friendly. Dress is cool and casual. THERE IS NO NEED TO BOOK IN ADVANCE, JUST TURN UP IN MID SEPTEMBER.
Perhaps you want to learn to dance for a particular occasion or you’ve always wished you could glide elegantly around the floor? Maybe you just simply want to feel more relaxed and confident on the dance floor and improve your social life as well? Whatever the reason, The Dance Experience can help you to achieve your goals.
From office parties and impromptu gatherings, through to cruises, weddings and other formal occasions, being able to dance and join in with the celebrations on the spur of the moment is immensely enjoyable and an invaluable asset. Don’t miss out on all the fun! Learn to dance!
The Dance Experience knows how to create the ideal environment in which to have fun and enjoy learning how to dance. The best music combined with proven teaching techniques and a structured fun programme make the Dance Experience unique in Bristol.

Important information concerning footwear at The Bristol Dance Centre The Bristol Dance Centre (BDC) have recently spent £4000 on having their floor resurfaced and are keen to keep their new floor in top condition and scratch free. Please do not wear any type of shoe that could damage the floor. These include narrow, stiletto and kitten heels or any shoes that need reheeling and have fallen into disrepair.
Ladies, suitable footwear options are any smooth soled shoe with a slightly wider/broader heel such as block or wedge heels. For both Men and Ladies, normal everyday shoes are fine, you do not need dedicated dance shoes to take part in classes and dances at the BDC. Synthetic soles and heels are fine, leather soles and heels are ideal. Please make sure they are in good condition and have not fallen into disrepair and have no nails or tacks protruding from the walking surface that could damage the floor. As you enter the BDC please wipe your feet to ensure there is no grit attached to the soles of your shoes that could potentially damage the floor. Please don’t be offended when we ask to examine your heels as you enter the dance hall. Trainers aren’t the best footwear to dance in, and we don't recommend them, but they are ok for basic choreography.
“You’ll never fear the scratch inspectors, if you wear your heel protectors!”
For those of you who have invested in specialist dance shoes or for those who inadvertently turn up in high heels, the BDC have insisted (as part of the contract of hire of the premises) that all ladies with narrow heeled shoes or boots are required to wear heel protectors. These are small transparent synthetic sleeves that simply slip over the tip of the heel. We have a selection of sizes which will fit most heel styles and shapes. These will be provided free of charge when you arrive and we will fit them for you. If you are wearing dance shoes leave these protectors on your shoes and wear them at our other venues. If you wish to use your shoes for outdoor use, simply remove the heel protectors after the class or dance has finished, slip them in your bag and reuse them next time. You can then reuse the same pair of heel protectors every time you attend the BDC. If you lose them, don’t worry, we will provide another pair free of charge.
For flatter shoes with broader heels this procedure isn’t necessary. Please don't be offended, when we ask to examine your heels. We have worked with these precautionary measures for the last year and they haven’t caused any problems.
Thank you for being careful about your choice of footwear in the BDC and helping us all to continue to use and enjoy one of the largest dance floors in the South West.

Personal lessons, with one trained teacher to one person or couple, offer an
effective way to tailor tuition to your individual requirements. You decide
what you would like to do and set your own pace. The time can be used to catch
up on a missed class or introduce more technique to develop your dancing further.
At
the moment demand for personal tuition is particularly high. Please
phone us on 0117 950 0084 to discuss availability.
