THE ROSS MITCHELL BAND

Ross Mitchell formed his own trio at the age of eighteen and during the next twenty five years worked in many British dance halls with the band steadily increasing in size. Ross recorded for EMI and Vogue recording Companies with two of his groups namely 'The Nocturnes' and 'The Track'. Ross Mitchell, His Band And Singers developed sixteen years ago when the band started to get involved with the Ballroom dancing Industry. They made three records for the Dansan recording company, many of these tracks are still available on a re-recording called 'Rainbow Collection' issued on the Dance and Listen label.

Ross and his band play for the majority of Major Championships in the U.K. and travel world wide to Australia, China, Hong Kong and Europe providing their brand of music for Dance Competitions, Shows and Grand Gala Balls. He has been presented with many awards connected with ballroom dancing including two Carl-Alan Awards, two Classique de Danse Awards and most recently at the occasion of the Star Ball in January 1998 the Ballroom Dancers Federation presented him with the highly acclaimed B.D.F. Music Award. When not involved with the dance world the band performs for many private parties, weddings and corporate functions.

Salsa and Merengue

MERENGADA




Merengada is a 10 piece band, formed in early 1997, and based in London, England. From their formation, Merengada has gone from strength to strength building a massive following in the UK and a reputation that is truly international.

With an international line-up of two Dominicans, a Mexican, an Italian and six top British musicians, this band has created its own identity and repertoire with a mix of Latin classics and its own popular salsa and merengue compositions.

Modelled on traditional bands from Santo Domingo, Merengada's exuberant vitality, pace and universal appeal inject an instant 'party' atmosphere in to any event.

With a front line of two crazy singers (Guillermo and Biembo) and their hi-energy girl-sax player, Nina, Merengada's live show is the most exciting and exuberant in Europe. Their non-stop show leaves them and their audiences breathless and ecstatic!

COCO XPRESS

OK, they're addictive but then they're an amazing salsa band... fabulous fun, style to stun and good time guaranteed. Coco Xpress have appeared, repeatedly, at a ridiculously long list of salsa clubs, corporate events, festivals and functions throughout the UK and they keep going back. Why? Because they're good... very good.. ok, excellent! Coco Xpress don't so much perform as party and the mood is seriously infectious. even Salsa fanatics accustomed to hot Latino music and vibrant Afro-Caribbean rhythms are at risk of overdosing on Coco Xpress.
