On many dance breaks, classes are available in the morning and there is a dance in the evening. The ballroom is not in use for much of the time and yet the dancing is why you are there. We use that Ballroom down-time to offer you much more at no extra cost. We run two complete dance breaks but in parallel, each using the Ballroom when the other isn’t.

DANCING – the most social of the art forms

Ballroom and Latin American dancing is now one of the few partner dancing styles where dancing with a variety of partners is not necessarily the norm. Of course, this was not always the case and the “couples only” mentality is itself a relatively recent trend. While Ballroom dancing has been stifled by this trend, it has given huge impetus to those dance styles where sociable partnering is the norm – Salsa, Tango and Le Roc. From our own teaching experience and from the experience of many hundreds of thousands of Salsa, Tango and Le Roc dancers, we know that it is far better to rotate partners in a class. Less experienced dancers learn more rapidly when learning and dancing with more experienced dancers. More experienced dancers learn better leading and following techniques when dancing with less experienced dancers. But there’s another dimension too and that’s the social one. Dancing is the most social of art forms and the rotation of partners ensures a much happier, more vibrant and friendly atmosphere and a lot more fun. If you still wish to dance exclusively with your own partner, it would be better to choose an alternative dance break.
