Paul Bottomer, has a natural sense of humour that belies his enormous amount of experience as a four times, undefeated, World & European Tango Supreme Champion and World Cup Winner. He is a much acclaimed teacher of all the most popular partner dance styles featured on BBC's Strictly Come Dancing, where Paul is also an occasional (behind the scenes) troubleshooting coach. He is a British Salsa and Merengue Championship coach and adjudicator, All-England Professional Ballroom Championship Grand Finalist, World Exhibition Dancer, from Beijing to Buenos Aires, International Author of over a dozen leisure dance books commissioned, published and translated around the world, and invited Lecturer at all major European Dance Teachers' Conferences. Paul is recognized by the World Dance & Dance Sport Council and the British Dance Council, and is one of Britain's only two five star Members of the International Dance Organisation. Paul is a specialist in the classic Cuban-Miami and popular Los Angeles styles of Salsa. He is the principle advisor on Salsa and Tango to the British Association of Teachers of Dancing, the National Association of Teachers of Dancing and, on Tango, Milonga and Vals to the UKA. Krissy is one of the most popular and versatile teachers on the Dance Matrix team, as well as being Paul's lovely partner. Krissy regularly teaches at "The Best of Ballroom and Latin American" as well as both Cuban-Miami and Los Angeles styles of Salsa at Club Latinfusion in London and is also a Zumba instructor. Krissy is a regularly featured teacher along side stars of "Strictly Come Dancing" at the prestigious Cheltenham Dance Festival, where she has taught Tango, and Tango, Salsa, Ballroom and Latin American on numerous dance holidays throughout the UK. Tango is Krissy's personal favourite and her passion. Krissy is the co-author of the Tango Technique (text book) and Examination Syllabus used by the UKA and NATD. Krissy has helped absolute beginners, including the distinguished Governor General of Australia, lectured on Tango to the IDTA and at the UKA National Congress, and taught at the beautiful and iconic Cafe Tortoni in Buenos Aires. Krissy has a particular affinity with beginners making classes and personal lessons a gentle but fun learning experience while more experienced dancers benefit from her clarity, precision and attention to those little details that define an excellent dancer (and an excellent teacher!). Having appeared at the Paris Salsa Congress and taken a leading role in the Salsa musical "Something Hot", Maria is now one of the young, hot, rising stars of the UK Salsa scene. Regularly teaching in North London's Salsa hot spots, Maria is a frequent guest Salsa teacher at the prestigious Cheltenham Dance Festival and has lectured on Salsa to the National Association of Teachers of Dancing. Trained by Paul and oozing with natural talent, Maria's much admired style is infused with a rhythmic fusion of street Salsa that combines femininity, fun and funk in one of today's most dynamic and exciting styles. Fans are delighted that Maria now teaches with Justin and feature teachers Sami (European Colombian Salsa Champion and UK Salsa Champion) and Julian Mr. M (Bar Salsa, Ministry of Sound) at Club Latinfusion (Dance Matrix Salsa Southgate). Justin joined Dance Matrix Salsa in 2006 and was awarded Dance Matrix Rising Star Salsa Teacher 2008. As our principal teacher of intermediate and advanced Salsa, whether teaching moves and techniques to challenge even the most experienced dancers or offering a patient and supportive approach to ensure the basics are understood and enjoyed by first-time dancers, Justin is always in the thick of it. His talents, however, are not bounded just by technical aspects of dancing Salsa, Justin's superb DJ-ing skills and choice of music pack the floor at Club Latinfusion every Sunday. Steph has been central to the Dance Matrix team for over a decade of dancing fun. Steph's encouraging approach and ability as a teacher to bring first-time Salsa dancers and recent newcomers so quickly up to speed make her role as our "Fast-Track Coach" both vitally important and absolutely invaluable. Steph has a fantastic expert 'eye' for dancing and considerable competence as a teacher, quickly and quietly helping dancers to do those little things that suddenly and seemingly inexplicably make everything just slot into place and work. Yet Steph also plays an enormously important role at the core, managing the Salsa Club nights and personally welcoming guests for both Club Latinfusion (Southgate) and Tango After Dark (Enfield).
Paolo has also been a mainstay of Dance Matrix for many years both as a participating Salsa dancer and as a welcoming and friendly face for our Club Latinfusion Salsa events in Southgate and our Best of Ballroom and Latin American events in Oakwood.
