Paul Bottomer

Four times undefeated World and European Supreme Tango Champion and World Cup Winner, Fellow and Examiner UKA, LIDTA, ANATD

Paul was trained in Buenos Aires by such masters as Juan Carlos Copes, Maria Nieves and the late Pepito Avellaneda. He has performed exhibitions, lectured and taught all over the world to great acclaim. Paul draws on his intimate knowledge to demystify for students Tango's style and technique while enhancing its inherent mood and mystery for those who just love to dance!

Tango de Salon

This has become the standard style of Tango and is based on walks in close hold

Tango Orillero

Originally from the orillas or outskirts of Buenos Aires, where Tango was born, this style has a more open hold allowing the development and interplay of intricate and exciting leg and foot movements

Milonga

A slightly faster and exhilarating forerunner of Tango on which the Tango was originally based but still enjoyed today

TANGO AFTER DARK

TUESDAY 24 APRIL - TANGO IS CLOSED

Unfortunately, the Special Milonga with Tony Walker has had to be cancelled because of his commitments elsewhere. There will therefore be no Tango After Dark on Tuesday 24 April. However, Paul will be back hotfoot from Buenos Aires on Tuesday 1 May for a Bumper session of the Best of Buenos Aires Tango !!! You will be able to enjoy the excellent music of Tony Walker at Tango on the Thames (see below).

Our milongas - social dancing, including tandas or sets of traditional Tango, Vals and Milonga with occasional interludes of music of a complementary mood to enjoy, especially at the end of the evening. Everyone dances with everyone else in a friendly and sociable atmosphere so no partner is needed.
