This is your Wedding Dance rather than your Wedding Song. Try to avoid choosing very slow music

Many couples believe that the slower the music, the easier it will be for them to learn to dance to but this is not the case. Very slow music can fall below the optimum dance speed and make it difficult to control movement in "slow motion". The dance will then look and feel very laboured and can become tedious for the watching guests. It will also mean that the couple will take much longer to progress around the floor before inviting their guests to share their wedding dance. Popular tracks that are really too slow to dance to include:

Van Morrison - Have I Told You Lately

Charles Aznavour - She

Enrique Iglesias - Hero

Shania Twain - From This Moment On

Choosing the dance style

A couple's choice of music and therefore the dance to go with it is no longer limited to a traditional Waltz. In fact, the majority of music choices favour an easy, comfortable and straightforward Social Foxtrot. However, if you are considering something a little more exotic, such as Salsa, Samba, or Tango, though this will undoubtedly reflect your personality, it is worth considering whether the wedding guests will be able to dance to it when invited to share your wedding dance. If the guests are unable to dance to your choice of music, you may have to dance the entire track yourselves and that may mean a considerable commitment to produce a dance lasting between 3-5 minutes compared to a  more standard wedding dance, where the guests join the wedding couple after only about 1 minute 20-30 seconds. For a more exotic choice, Merengue, a Latin American dance closely associated with Salsa, is recommended. This has a great party feel with a straightforward rhythm that guests can join in and bop to, even if they don't actually know how to Merengue.
